Dr. Ronald A. Sherman Cuprina Medical and Scientific Director

Dr. Ronald A. Sherman

Dr. Ronald A. Sherman brings over 30 years of expertise in biotherapy, with a pioneering focus on maggot therapy for wound care. He earned a BS in Entomology from UC Riverside, an MD from UCLA, and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UC Davis in 1987. He then obtained a Master’s in Clinical Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UC Irvine in 1991, during which he began his clinical research on wound care and maggot therapy.

Dr. Sherman has held faculty and clinical appointments at UC Irvine and the Veterans Acairs Medical Center. In 2004, he was instrumental in securing FDA marketing clearance for medical-grade maggots and later co-founded Monarch Labs to support their production and distribution. He currently serves as Director of the non-profit BioTherapeutics Education & Research Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing patient care, education, and research in maggot therapy, leech therapy, and other biotherapeutic modalities.

Dr. Yong Enming

Dr. Yong Enming is a consultant vascular surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Head of the Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the European Board of Vascular Surgeons, and completed advanced vascular training at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London.

Dr. Yong is a Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgeons (FEBVS), is board certified by the American Board of Wound Management (CWSP), and credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RPVI). His clinical interests includes wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and the management of chronic venous insufficiency.

Beyond clinical practice, he is a clinical lecturer at NUS and NTU's medical schools, an active researcher, and holds an MBA jointly conferred by IE Business School and Singapore Management University.
